Divers at Cousin Island Special Reserve have grown and transplanted over 32,000 coral fragments to fully revive a hectare of bleached reef.

Aldabra's reefs have been studied for half a century, but nobody had ever looked over the edge into the deep water the atoll sits on — until submersibles went down in 2019.
