AGRO-MAP, founded in Abidjan in 2018, works with smallholder cocoa cooperatives and producer organizations to combine agroforestry, community reforestation and mangrove restoration with efforts to raise farmer incomes. Since 2018 the company has planted more than 20 million trees across its agroforestry and reforestation projects in Cote d'Ivoire, and its flagship forest-landscape restoration programme targets 70,000 hectares of degraded land, projected to capture over 35 million tonnes of CO2. Field projects such as its Gagnoa-area community agroforestry initiative pair cocoa farmers with forest and fruit tree nurseries to diversify income while rebuilding tree cover lost to cocoa-driven deforestation.
