Agua Para el Pueblo (Water for the People) is a Honduran nonprofit that has designed and built community drinking-water treatment systems across Honduras since the 1980s. Working with Cornell University's AguaClara program since 2005, it has commissioned eighteen gravity-powered water treatment plants using sustainable, chemical-light technology that local operators can run without electricity. The plants serve communities ranging from small villages of 170 people to towns of 12,000.
