AnuBlue Grows Antigua and Barbuda's Coral Reefs Back to Life

AnuBlue (formerly Elkhorn Marine Conservancy) has run coral restoration in Antigua and Barbuda since 2021, maintaining nurseries at Jumby Bay, Cades Reef and two sites around Green Island. Divers propagate fragments from heat- and disease-resistant parent colonies and outplant them onto degraded reefs to rebuild coastline protection, fisheries habitat and tourism value. The program also runs marine research and community education alongside its restoration work.
