ASPSP was created in 2003 to pursue food sovereignty in rural Senegal through agroecology training and the production of peasant seeds, with its president Lamine Biaye running an educational seed farm at Djimini. From 14 to 16 April 2026 it held the first local peasant seed fair at Ndiémane, commune of Malicounda, with producers, rural women, mayors and civil-society groups. A 2020-2022 project with the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa worked with 4 farming groups, 10 farms and 200 women in the communes of Saré Coly Salé and Koussanar on cultivated and wild food biodiversity.
