Association Anoulak, founded by primatologist Camille Coudrat in 2014, worked for years inside Nakai-Nam Theun National Park in Laos's Annamite Mountains, one of the last refuges of the critically endangered saola and home to pangolins and the rare Wolf Barb fish. From 2016-2023 it trained and supported villager-staffed anti-poaching patrol teams and ran camera-trap biodiversity surveys across designated Biodiversity Priority Zones, before handing patrol operations to the national park authority for long-term sustainability. Since 2025 the organization has shifted to strengthening Lao civil society directly, running youth conservation programs, professional development for Lao conservationists, and student scholarships.
