Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation, founded in 2015, runs the Bondhu Chula improved-cookstove programme and a separate energy-saving stove project. Its site says around 262,000 energy-saving stoves have been distributed in Cox's Bazar (Sadar, Ukhiya and Teknaf, including Rohingya refugee camps), the Bede community in Savar, the char areas of Tangail and Manikganj, and the haor areas of Sunamganj and Kishoreganj. The stoves are described as giving about 45% fuel efficiency and less smoke than traditional stoves, though the foundation reports no measured health outcomes. BONDHU remains active, with 2026 news on climate and tree-planting projects.
