Bicara Udara ("Talk About Air") started in 2020 when three Jakarta mothers, alarmed that toxic haze was affecting their children's development, launched a petition demanding the government stop waste burning and act on air pollution; it gathered more than 78,000 signatures. Formalized as a non-profit in 2021, the group now trains community leaders and content creators as Clean Air Ambassadors through its Biru Voices program, runs school partnerships through Biru School Alliance, and hosts Biru Talks discussions with policymakers, all pushing for stronger air-quality regulation across greater Jakarta.
