Blue Resources Trust is a Sri Lankan non-profit that carries out marine research, conservation, education, and consultancy work across the island's coastal waters. Its Fisheries and Policy Programme monitors landing sites to track Sri Lanka's shark and ray catch, updating national species records and informing CITES and CMS protections, while other teams research coral reefs and seagrass meadows and test gear to reduce small cetacean bycatch. The trust works toward a national goal of increasing Sri Lanka's marine protected area coverage fivefold by 2030.
