BREEF (Bahamas Reef Environment Educational Foundation) has spent more than three decades building Bahamian ownership of marine conservation, from coral reef nurseries in New Providence and Andros to hands-on marine science education. More than 4,000 Bahamian children take part in BREEF's education programmes every year, and the foundation mentors over 50 Eco-Schools across the archipelago. BREEF was also instrumental in establishing marine protected areas and sustainable fisheries policy across the Bahamas.
