Giving Delhi Parents the Data to Demand Clean Air

Care for Air began as a volunteer group of Delhi parents and professionals in 2014, formally registering as a non-profit in 2018, with a mission of awareness, advocacy and change for clean air. Co-founder Jyoti Pande Lavakare's family was among the petitioners in the landmark Arjun Gopal v. Union of India case (W.P. Civil 728/2015), which led the Supreme Court to restrict firecracker sales across Delhi-NCR. The organization now runs a Student Ambassador Program and Clean Air Clubs in schools, and regularly briefs media and policymakers on air pollution science.
