Coral Gardeners

Started in 2017 on Mo'orea, the sister island of Tahiti, Coral Gardeners grows heat-resilient coral fragments in ocean nurseries and outplants them onto degraded reefs, with restoration sites now in French Polynesia, Fiji, and Thailand. The organization has planted over 160,000 corals to date and is working toward a goal of one million climate-resilient corals.
