Foundation Dar Si Hmad works in the AΓ―t Baamrane region of southwest Morocco, where wells run dry and women once walked hours a day to fetch water. Since the mid-2010s the NGO has operated CloudFisher fog nets strung across Mount Boutmezguida, condensing Atlantic sea fog into fresh water. Solar-powered pumps, reservoirs, and thousands of meters of piping carry the water directly into homes in five villages, most of the beneficiaries women and children. The project was recognized in the UN's 2023 Global Climate Action 'Women for Results' Awards for combining women-led governance with climate adaptation.
