Stop Spild Af Mad (Stop Wasting Food) calls itself Denmark's largest movement against food waste and has been active since 2008. It combines consumer campaigns, partnerships with retailers and businesses, and surplus-food redistribution to people in need. Its own site counts more than 200 projects and activities and over 7,000 Danish and international media mentions since 2008, plus over 60,000 Danes backing the movement. Since 2011 it has passed on more than 300 tonnes of surplus food to vulnerable people. Founder Selina Juul also serves as an ambassador for the UN-backed Champions 12.3 coalition on halving food waste.
