Fundación Colombianitos: Football as a Path Out of Colombia's Conflict

Founded in 2001, Fundación Colombianitos runs its Goals for a Better Life programme in urban and rural municipalities across Colombia where extreme violence, displacement, and alcohol and drug abuse shape daily life for children. Coaches use FIFA's 3football methodology and structured play to teach conflict resolution, gender equity and leadership, including a Young Agents of Change project backed by the FIFA Foundation that trains youth leaders in each community. In 2018 alone the foundation supported more than 25,000 children, adolescents and young people across 17 municipalities, and its work has included engaging former combatants who completed community service through its workshops after demobilising.
