Founded in 1989, Guinée Écologie is a Guinean non-profit that has spent over three decades promoting sustainable natural resource management across the country. Since 2023, working with the N'Zérékoré Forestry Center, BirdLife International and funding from the Fondation L'OCCITANE, the organization has built community-run nurseries to restore degraded stretches of the Mont Béro classified forest in the Guinée Forestière region. Local residents from five surrounding communities were trained in nursery techniques and are raising six priority native tree species to replant the watershed forest that anchors the region's biodiversity.
