Karma: Rescuing Surplus Food by App

Karma is a Swedish company founded in Stockholm in 2016 that built an app connecting restaurants, cafes, bakeries and grocery stores with nearby customers who can buy their surplus food at a reduced price before it goes to waste. The service has expanded from Sweden into the UK and France, working with thousands of food businesses. By reducing what ends up in landfill, Karma also cuts the greenhouse gas emissions tied to wasted food.
