Kgotso Development Trust began its air quality work under a project covering Greater Harare and Bulawayo, deploying its first five sensors in October 2022. Its IQAir profile now lists 12 managed stations in Harare, Gweru, Bulawayo, Kadoma, Rusape, Norton and Beitbridge. In 2025 the EPIC Air Quality Fund awarded it support to set up Zimbabwe's first real-time monitoring network of 35 low-cost PM2.5 sensors, aimed at public data, awareness of health impacts and evidence for air quality management plans. Zimbabwe currently has no national ambient PM2.5 standard.
