Korin Gamadji Institute: Richmond Football Club's Home for Indigenous Youth Leadership

Gifted its name by Wurundjeri Elders in 2011, the Korin Gamadji Institute (KGI) is an Indigenous youth leadership centre embedded within the Richmond Football Club at Punt Road Oval in Melbourne. KGI runs school-holiday leadership camps, in-school workshops and sporting carnivals for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 7-12, built around three pillars: Culture, Leadership, and Social and Emotional Wellbeing. Programs are co-designed with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander psychologists, researchers and Elders, and have now reached more than 3,000 emerging Indigenous leaders.
