Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) runs second-chance secondary education in Papua New Guinea's Oro Province, where Kokoda College had no grid electricity. With the Australian Government and REnew Pacific, KTF installed a solar mini-grid at the college in 2024 that powers device charging, a new IT lab with 19 new computers, classroom and dorm lighting, and the campus aid post. Over 200 students at the college benefit. In October 2025 the Australian High Commission announced KTF's next mini-grids, at Sanananda Aid Post, which supports about 7,000 patients a year and needs power for medical equipment and vaccine storage, and at the Mt Koiari FODE Centre on the Kokoda Track.
