Live & Learn Fiji, registered as a charitable trust since 1999, runs the Climate Resilient Islands programme across 15 communities in Fiji's Northern Division, spanning coastal flats to mountain forests hit hardest by deforestation, riverbank erosion and coastal inundation. Villages combine nature-based land management, climate-smart farming and food security work with disaster preparedness planning and resilient water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure, drawing on Indigenous ecological knowledge to choose what to protect and how. Regionally, the New Zealand-funded programme now works with 65 rural communities across Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
