Founded in 2013 after a trip to India, Make Life Skate Life designs and builds community skateparks with local volunteers in places that have never had one, from Baghdad and Yangon to La Paz and Amman. The organization has completed 17 community skatepark projects in countries including India, Bolivia, Jordan, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Iraq, Lebanon, and the Philippines. Roughly 5,000 young people, including girls and refugee youth, now have weekly access to skateboarding at MLSL-built parks. Each build trains local skaters in construction and coaching so the skate scene keeps growing after the international crew leaves.
