by The Lost Food Project Β· HQ π²πΎ Malaysia
The Lost Food Project (TLFP) is a Kuala Lumpur food bank founded in 2016 that collects surplus food from wholesalers, manufacturers, grocers and bakeries and delivers it to welfare homes, refugee communities and soup kitchens. About 81% of what it rescues is fresh fruit and vegetables, mostly from the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market, supplemented by more than 50 distributors and manufacturers and 50 bakery partners. It runs 12 five-tonne trucks and opened a new distribution centre on Jalan Chan Sow Lin in April 2025. TLFP reports more than 11 million kg rescued and 33 million meals delivered between 2016 and January 2026, and says its current rescue rate prevents about 143 tonnes of CO2e a week.
