Mali-Folkecenter Nyetaa began in 1999 with help from Denmark's Folkecenter for Renewable Energy and works on productive uses of energy across Mali. In 2022 its chairman Ibrahim Togola said it had set up 17,000 solar panels in schools, maternity clinics and emergency rooms and trained local people to maintain them. Its Innov-ReC project financed 16 green initiatives, with women prominent in market gardening supported by solar pumping systems, and trained 1,366 people, 546 of them women. In 2026 the group was accredited as a direct access entity of the Green Climate Fund.
