Madagascar social enterprise Masontsika installs solar Powerhubs, called Bazary, at rural health centres and small shops. Neighbours pay per use for lamp rental, phone charging and cold storage, and the revenue keeps the systems maintained so the health centre gets its electricity free. Press coverage in October 2025 reported 38 Powerhubs deployed, about a third run by women previously excluded from the labour market, and more than 6,000 patients a month treated at electrified centres in over a dozen remote villages. The model won one of three grants in SEforALL's Powering Healthcare Innovation Fund, which targets 12 off-grid health facilities.
