Addis Ababa Seamstresses Stitch 'Solutions' for Period Poverty

Mela for Her is an Addis Ababa social enterprise founded in March 2020 that makes reusable menstrual pads and underwear and teaches menstrual health. An August 2026 D+C report says it has 42 employees, over 85 percent of them women, plus 179 female sales agents covering rural last-mile distribution. The report says more than 350,000 women and girls have received its products, including dignity kits supplied with humanitarian partners to refugees and displaced people.
