Mivo Énergie, a Togolese association incubated by the NGO Entrepreneurs du Monde since 2013, has built a last-mile distribution network of local resellers and partnerships with 17 microfinance institutions to get solar lamps, gas stoves and improved cookstoves into homes across Togo. By 2024 the program had equipped more than 13,900 families, changing daily life for an estimated 55,000 people. Most customers are women, who see reduced household fuel spending, less exposure to toxic cooking smoke, and lower pressure on Togo's dwindling forests for firewood and charcoal.
