Mobility Awards

The Mobility Awards began in 2020, during the pandemic bike boom, as a way to recognise the Philippine local governments, workplaces and commercial establishments doing most for people who walk and cycle. Its first edition assessed 50 nominees in Metro Manila β ten cities, ten workplaces and thirty establishments β and gave gold and silver ratings to Pasig, San Juan and Marikina as the most bicycle-friendly cities. The awards are run jointly by the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, MNL Moves, the Climate Reality Project Philippines and 350 Pilipinas, with evaluation drawing on riders' own reports. By 2025 it had reached its fourth edition and expanded beyond the capital, with Iloilo City among the recipients. The point is leverage: a public rating that mayors want to win.
