Growing Moldova's Organic Farming Value Chain

Founded in 2015 in Chisinau, MOVCA is the first and largest association supporting Moldova's organic value chain, from farmers and processors to traders and researchers. It now counts more than 90 members overseeing over 6,500 hectares of certified organic cultivation, still a small slice of the roughly 1% of Moldova's storied cernozem farmland currently grown organically. MOVCA runs the BioFood.md e-commerce platform to get members' organic produce directly to consumers, and an e-learning platform teaching organic crop rotation, certification and marketing in Romanian.
