One Ocean Conservation pairs cage-free, free-diving shark encounters with a non-invasive photo-identification research programme that has catalogued hundreds of individual sharks around Oahu by their natural markings and scars. Co-founders Ocean Ramsey and Juan Oliphant led the advocacy campaign behind Hawaii's 2021 law (HB553) banning the killing of sharks in state waters. The organisation also runs a Hawaiian green sea turtle monitoring programme and has delivered over a thousand shark and ocean-conservation presentations in Oahu schools.
