OpenAQ Open Air Quality Data Platform

OpenAQ is an environmental tech nonprofit that has aggregated real-time and historical ground-level air quality data since 2015, harmonizing government reference monitors and low-cost sensors onto a single open-access platform and API. By the end of 2025, OpenAQ covered 141 countries and territories with over 15,300 actively monitored locations and more than 2 billion measurements available to researchers, journalists, and advocates. The organization added nine new countries to its coverage in 2025 alone, including Malawi, Cambodia, and Zimbabwe.
