614 People of Four Faiths Replanted 4 Hectares of Cambodia's Monks Community Forest

Peace Bridges Organization, a Phnom Penh peacebuilding NGO, partners with the Monks Community Forest in Oddar Meanchey, the 18,261-hectare forest protected by monks of Samraong pagoda since 2001. On 13 July 2025, its Arbor Day event in Chhouk Meas Village drew 614 participants, including 161 women, monks, youth, students and officials. They planted 7,420 seedlings across four hectares of forest land, with participants from Buddhist, Christian, Muslim and Indigenous traditions reflecting on the spiritual duty to protect nature. Follow-up planting events were reported in August 2025 (6,000 seedlings) and July 2026.
