Ten-Faucet Handwashing Lines Are Changing Philippine School Mornings

Manila Water Foundation, a non-stock nonprofit established in 2005, runs the Lingap program that installs water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools in support of the Department of Education's WASH in Schools program. At a World Water Day exhibit in March 2024 its executive director reported over 300 multi-faucet hand-hygiene facilities built in schools and public institutions, 71 of them in Quezon City. In August 2026 it inaugurated two 10-faucet hygiene facilities at elementary schools in Pakil, Laguna with Prime Infra Foundation, serving more than 1,200 learners and teachers, and handed out hygiene kits with hand towels and Safeguard soap plus information posters.
