Pirika: Clean the World

Pirika, Inc. was founded in 2011 out of a Kyoto University research lab to tackle litter leaking into the natural environment. Its anti-litter social app lets anyone photograph and log the trash they pick up, visualizing cleanup activity on a shared platform. The service is used by individuals, companies, and local governments, and has spread to 136 countries and regions.
