Planet Patrol

Planet Patrol was founded by adventurer Lizzie Carr MBE after she stand-up paddleboarded the length of England in 2016 and documented the plastic pollution she passed along the way. Its free app lets paddlers, swimmers and walkers log litter and water-quality readings wherever they are; since 2016, more than 50,000 volunteers across 95 countries have logged almost 500,000 items of litter. The resulting open Litter Map is used by scientists, campaigners and policymakers to target clean-ups and hold polluters accountable, and the charity runs regular paddleboard and community clean-up events across the UK.
