PowerGen Renewable Energy, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, designs, builds, and operates solar mini-grids across Africa. In Nigeria, the company operates 16 renewable mini-grids serving more than 12,000 households and businesses with reliable, clean power. In January 2025, PowerGen closed a $50 million Series C funding round to scale a 120 MW mini-grid and metro-grid platform across Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
