Incorporated in 1994 as Punanga Tauturu Inc. and now known as Punanga Turuturu Itivaine (PTI), this Rarotonga-based centre is the Cook Islands' national counselling and support service for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. PTI offers counselling, legal literacy, referrals, and safe housing, working alongside police and health services in the islands' response to gender-based violence. The centre marked 32 years of continuous operation in September 2025. In July 2025 alone, PTI responded to 29 calls for help and assisted eight walk-in clients, three of whom received ongoing counselling.
