Based in Bangkok, RECOFTC works with governments, communities and civil society in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Vietnam to reform tenure, policy and markets so local and Indigenous communities can legally access, manage and benefit from forest land. It trains community groups, foresters and officials in land-use planning, dispute resolution and forest governance. Since 2018, forest area under community management across RECOFTC's focal countries has grown from 8.2 to 12.4 million hectares, a 51% increase.
