REI-Cameroon designs, installs and maintains community solar minigrids in rural areas of Cameroon that lack grid electricity, giving households, businesses, hospitals and churches reliable power for the first time. Its Voundou minigrid alone runs on 108kWp of solar generation and 254kWh of battery storage, serving dozens of connections including a hospital and a church. Across its projects the company has deployed roughly 262kWp of solar capacity and 378kWh of storage, and is working with partners including the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and IEEE Smart Village to scale toward 134 additional minigrid sites.
