Rooftop Republic Urban Farming

Founded in 2015, Rooftop Republic designs, builds and manages urban farms on underused rooftops, terraces and vacant spaces across Hong Kong for clients ranging from shopping malls and office towers to schools and hotels. Its 'Urban Farming as a Service' model turns concrete rooftops into productive organic growing space while running hands-on workshops, corporate team-building sessions and its own Rooftop Republic Academy to train the city's next generation of urban farmers. By 2022 the social enterprise had built and managed more than 50 urban farms across the city, reconnecting dense, high-rise Hong Kong with where its food comes from.
