Sahel Eco, founded in 2004 and based in Bamako, works with farming communities across Mali's Mopti and Ségou regions to spread Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration, composting, stone bunds and zaï pits that restore degraded cropland and cut hunger risk. In 2024 the organization trained more than 1,100 farmers in soil and water conservation and helped regenerate over 1,274 hectares of land, while also training 150 farmer leaders across four agroecological centers. The same year it helped launch 13 new women's savings groups, supported 50 households with poultry micro-enterprises, and established new community nutrition gardens.
