SeaLegacy: Photography and Film That Move Ocean Policy

SeaLegacy is a collective of photographers, filmmakers and scientists founded in 2014 to put visual storytelling to work for ocean conservation, from Arctic Norway to Baja California. Its imagery and campaigns have been credited with helping halt oil-drilling plans near orca habitat in Norway's Lofoten Islands and supporting Panama-led Proposal 37 at CITES CoP19, which won new international trade protections for all 54 species of requiem sharks. The organization also documents marine protected area recovery and campaigns to protect 30% of the ocean by 2030.
