Founded in 2009 by agriculturalist Daniel Wanjama, Seed Savers Network Kenya trains smallholder farmers, most of them women, to multiply, store and exchange indigenous seed varieties threatened by dependence on commercial hybrid seed. The network has helped establish more than 50 community seed banks across Kenyan counties, documenting and reviving crop varieties once thought lost from local farms. Its work strengthens food sovereignty and climate resilience for tens of thousands of rural households.
