Founded in 2013 by skateboarder Charlie Davis, SkatePal has built concrete skateparks in towns including Zebabdeh, Asira Al-Shamaliya, and Jayyous, training local youth in construction so future builds don't depend on international volunteers. By 2019, its programs reached roughly 1,400 participants, with female attendance climbing to 41%, well above typical participation rates in Western skate scenes. Weekly sessions bring together children, teens, and their families in villages with few other recreational outlets. SkatePal also runs a program for migrant youth in London and continues to train Palestinian skatepark builders and coaches.
