Founded in 2014 in the village of Saidoun, SOILS Permaculture Association Lebanon runs permaculture, composting and beekeeping training for Lebanese communities and Syrian refugees alike. Its Micro-Gardens programme, delivered in refugee camps across the Bekaa Valley, teaches families to build small, water-efficient food gardens in tight spaces, and it co-produced a grey-water gardening manual with partners for use in Syrian displacement camps. Across its training programmes, SOILS has taught roughly 500 people agroecology, permaculture, composting and beekeeping skills.
