Spreading Crushed Basalt on Farmland to Speed Up Carbon Weathering

UNDO practises enhanced rock weathering, applying finely crushed basalt rock to agricultural fields where it reacts with rainwater and CO2 to draw carbon out of the air and store it permanently as bicarbonate, while also replenishing soil minerals for farmers. Since spinning out of a Cardiff University research project, UNDO has scaled operations across the UK, US, Canada and Australia, with clients including Microsoft, Stripe and McLaren Racing. The company publicly tracks its rock deployment and modelled CO2 drawdown on its website.
