Founded in 2019 by young Chadians and international partners and headquartered in N'Djamena with a support office in the U.S., Water4Chad drills boreholes and installs solar-powered water towers so rural communities no longer depend on distant or contaminated rivers and ponds. Local Chadian drilling crews who know the terrain and geology have completed 134 wells, including 37 solar-powered water tower systems, across eight regions of Chad including Kanem, Ennedi-Est and Hadjer-Lamis. The organization reports that its work has brought clean water to more than 56,000 people, with each well typically serving an entire village of 300 to 500 residents for years.
