WithOneSeed started in 2009 with just 12 farmers planting 3,000 trees in Baguia sub-district and has grown into Timor-Leste's first Gold Standard-verified carbon forestry program. Farming households plant and maintain native and naturalized tree species on their own land, generating carbon credits sold internationally, with the large majority of that income staying in Timor-Leste to pay farmers and employ local staff through partner Foundation Ho Musan Ida. The program has paid millions of dollars into the Baguia village economy since 2010 and has begun expanding into additional municipalities.
