Ciclocidade

Ciclocidade, the Associação dos Ciclistas Urbanos de São Paulo, was founded on 25 November 2009 by dozens of people who had been campaigning individually for bicycle mobility and wanted a body that could speak for them. It runs cyclist counts at ten points across São Paulo, audits the city's bike lanes for quality rather than just kilometres, publishes a profile survey of who actually cycles in the city, and issues the Sistemas Seguros bulletin on road safety. When the city moved against existing cycleways, Ciclocidade coordinated more than twenty organisations in response. It is a membership association: São Paulo cyclists join, pay dues and vote.
