Ndlovu Care Group: Healthcare, Childcare, and a Global Youth Choir in Rural Limpopo
by Ndlovu Care Group Β· HQ πΏπ¦ South Africa
Founded in 1994 by Dr Hugo Tempelman as a primary healthcare facility, Ndlovu Care Group now delivers healthcare, early childhood development, vocational training, and WASH infrastructure across the Moutse Valley of Limpopo's Sekhukhune District, an area of roughly 140,000 people. During the COVID-19 vaccine rollout the organisation passed the milestone of administering 50,000 vaccinations, including 33,674 doses to healthcare workers and more than 15,000 to surrounding community members. In 2009 Ndlovu launched a children's music programme that became the Ndlovu Youth Choir; the roughly 40-member choir, drawn from the same rural communities the Care Group serves, later became an international sensation after reaching the finals of America's Got Talent.
